ABOUT THE MCA
One of the nation’s largest facilities devoted to the art of our time, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago documents contemporary visual culture through thought-provoking exhibitions that feature art created since 1945. The MCA aspires to engage a broad and diverse audience, create a sense of community, and be a place for contemplation, stimulation, and discussion about contemporary art and culture. The museum boldly interweaves exhibitions, performances, collections, and educational programs to excite and challenge visitors and to provide insight into the creative process.
Located in the heart of downtown Chicago, the MCA boasts a gift store, bookstore, Marisol Restaurant, a 300-seat theater, and a sculpture garden with panoramic views of Lake Michigan.
ABOUT THE MCA STORE
The MCA Store is an ever-changing landscape of new ideas, resourceful innovation, and great design from artists and designers throughout the world. Our buyers travel the globe in search of the next surprise to bring back to Chicago. The MCA Store specializes in a distinct range of merchandise—including jewelry and accessories, design objects, toys, media, periodicals, and books—that tells the story of what is current and emerging in contemporary art, design, fashion, music, and culture. Focused on the creative process of artists and designers, the specifically selected objects tell their stories; their thoughts and inspiration. MCA Store staff develops relationships with the artists and designers: gathering information, customizing products, and sharing customer feedback. Becoming a part of their creative process strengthens the creative process of making a dynamic museum store. The MCA Store has been named one of the world's best museum gift shops by Fodor's and one of the America's best museum gift shops by The Wall Street Journal. All proceeds from the MCA Store support the exhibitions and programs of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
The MCA Store is located at 220 East Chicago Avenue (at the corner of Chicago Avenue and Mies van der Rohe Way). Visit us in person to see all the items featured on our website—and discover many more.
