This exhibition catalogue was created in conjunction with the Performance Anxiety exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago from April 19th to July 6th, 1997. The catalogue brings together twelve unique contemporary artists who invite viewers to develop a physical and psychological connection with their artwork. Rather than merely admiring art that they are not allowed to touch, viewers become “performers” as they complete the works. Each interactive experience varies in complexity, enabling viewers to explore the potential for a single artwork to be recreated with individual choices and actions. This book also includes an audio CD.
