Negative Thoughts was released in conjunction with the exhibition of the same name at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago from January 27th to April 22nd, 2001. As part of the exhibition, AA Bronson developed a website featuring the images and texts now found in the catalogue. Negative Thoughts is an honest account of a former three-person artist collective, General Idea, who lived and worked together for 25 years. AA Bronson, Jorge Zontal, and Felix Partz created a vast portfolio of conceptually clever, proudly queer art from 1969 to 1994. In their last seven years, they explored the subject of AIDS primarily. Sadly, Zontal and Partz both passed away due to AIDS-related causes in 1994.
