Exemplifying formal and thematic links throughout the artist's oeuvre, SAMIA HALABY: Centers of Energy offers a prestigious exploration of her body of work.

Samia Halaby is an eminent figure in the world of abstract and computer-generated art, known for her groundbreaking work and expertise in Palestinian art. Over the past two decades, Halaby has expanded her creative range, producing larger and more ambitious paintings and canvas-based assemblages. A trailblazer in the realm of digital art, she mastered programming languages and crafted "kinetic paintings" on an Amiga computer in the late 1980s, filled with vibrant shapes, sounds, and textures. In the 1990s, she developed a personalized PC program that creates moving shapes through keyboard commands. However, these dynamic paintings and performances, preserved in digital video format, have yet to receive proper recognition and exhibition. With approximately thirty-five pieces on display, "Samia Halaby: Centers of Energy" marks the first comprehensive American showcase of her work, including Halaby's own writings on her artistic process.
Elliot Josephine Leila Reichert joined the Eskenazi Museum of Art as its first curator of contemporary art in 2019.
