Marcel Shell Bowl - Small

The small black Marcel Shell Bowl by Wouters & Hendrix for Serax is a porcelain bowl shaped like a mussel. Its name refers to Belgian artist Marcel Broodthaers, whose work famously transformed the everyday mussel into art. The surreal design also plays on the collection name Les Objets Mouleversants, combining objets bouleversants with moules, the French word for mussels.
With the help of Belgian design brand Serax, jewelry brand Wouters & Hendrix ventures into new territory with Les Objets Mouleversants, their collection of home jewelry. Wouters & Hendrix drew inspiration from surrealism, an art movement of the 1920s which explored dreamlike imagery. Each object thus embodies a certain playfulness. Les Objets Mouleversants is a collection of conversation pieces, adding the finishing touch to your table just like jewelry does in fashion.
Not oven safe. Dishwasher resistant. As many of these designs are finished by hand, this may lead to irregularities and is considered a part of the uniqueness of each piece.
