The Reality series by Harry Allen is inspired by the beauty of everyday objects. By casting natural forms, Allen thoughtfully reimagines objects and gives them new uses. Each object is chosen with care and often a comic sensibility. Here, an 18th-century Italian church-key is cast to become an oversized silicone keychain. Includes stainless steel ring to hold your keys.

Harry Allen for Areaware

Harry Allen was born in New Jersey, and attended the Pratt Institute where he received a Master’s Degree in Industrial Design. He then established Harry Allen Design, where he has since designed furniture, lighting, products and interiors for a wide variety of international clients. Harry’s work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art and the Brooklyn, Denver and Philadelphia Museums of Art. His awards include the Brooklyn Museum of Art’s Modernism/Young Designer Award and two Industrial Design Society of America IDEA Awards.

Areaware creates objects and gifts for home, work, and play in collaboration with independent designers. They are dedicated to creating functional and uplifting objects, designed with integrity. Above all else, designers are at the heart of what they do.
